As of writing this, the EGO Power + 650 CFM Handheld blower is officially the industry’s most powerful blower. This blower can blow up to 180 MPH!
The advancements in blowers over the last several years are simply staggering to me. It wasn’t long ago that I was using a corded Black & Decker blower that could hardly push a beach ball 20 feet. Fast forward to 2020 and here we are with this monster that’s capable of blowing as hard as a category 5 hurricane (literally)! EGO has done their homework and designed a turbine fan engine that pushes the air faster and harder than standard blowers, and when I say harder I mean it, check out my Instagram video to see it blowing pine needles and crepe myrtle flowers down my driveway with ease after they were soaked in 6 hours of rain while I was at work! There’s a reason EGO’s slogan is “Power Beyond Belief,” they knew what they were setting out to do when they designed this blower and that was to finally end the debate as to whether or not Cordless OPE could top gas.
With the Variable Speed Dial you can smoothly and easily adjust the power from 225 CFM up to 500 CFM, and eliminate the need to hold the trigger while using the blower for extended periods of time.
Speaking of extended periods of time (nice segue there, don’t you think?) the battery life on this blower is outstanding. When purchased in the kit that includes (1) 5.0 Ah battery you can get up to 200 minutes of run time on low, 90 minutes of typical use, or 15 minutes of full on Turbo Mode!
A great additional feature that EGO designed into this blower is it’s Weather Resistant Construction. Meaning that if you happen to be hurrying to finish blowing the grass clippings and leaves before a summer storm rolls in but the storm wins the race, your blower will weather the storm even better than you will, so you won’t need to worry about it getting a bit of rain on it!
It is worth noting that what you gain in power, you trade for a bit of extra weight. Prior to using this blower I had been using a Makita 18-Volt which weighs in at 6.5 lbs. (including a 4.0 Ah battery) whereas the EGO blower weighs in at just under 13 lbs. However the extra weight is packing in a ton of extra power, the Makita blower tops out at 116 mph & 459 CFM and the EGO POWER + blower reaches 180 mph & 650 CFM. Essentially, that translates to: Carry a little more weight, get done a lot faster!

Final Takeaways
The EGO Power + 650 CFM Blower is the cream of the crop when it comes to Cordless blowers. There simply is not a more powerful and all around useful machine on the market right now. I recommend you buy it, especially if you currently use the EGO 56-Volt battery platform.
